Hi, everyone. My name is , and I live in Toronto, Canada. I am the president and CEO of two separate boutique companies. One is a multimedia events company and the other one is a marketing consulting and branding company. Now, before I started Sam's course, that was at the beginning of 2017, I spent about 20 years of my professional career doing an average of about 80 to 100 hours of work a week. Although, I know, I did go under a lot of success with the amount of time and discipline that I spent on this, what I wasn't able to do is I wasn't able to get off that wheel. You know that wheel that once you get on it, you just keep running and you keep running and you keep running? You have this fear that if you even slow down, let alone stop, that all of what you've accomplished, your resources, your expertise and the money at the end of the day that you make, you worry that all of that's just going to go to the way-side.
I have been that person for over two decades of my life, constantly working and working and working and not seeing really how I can get to a substantial next level, have the financial freedom that I do have now, but do it with quality time versus the quantity that I was spending. Then, when I came across Sam's course, I have to tell you that literally, within the first couple of lessons, midway through week one, I realized something really fundamental. I want to share that with you.
I realized that there was a mind shift that was a journey that I was being taken on. A mind shift to tell me that time, resources, value, understanding all of these things was something that I needed to be able to do when it came to the clients that I was speaking to. What I spent most of my career on was trying to figure out how I can be the best that I can be and constantly focusing on myself without realizing that I can only be better at what I do if I focus a lot more on the clients' needs. Focus on what problems there are that they need identifying, that they don't know how to resolve because fundamentally, they don't even know what the problem is that they're trying to solve. This truly has changed the trajectory of how I do my consulting business.
I've gotten about halfway through the course, and I want to tell you that after just the first week of this course, my mind shift taught me that I need to value the resources and expertise that I've learnt over the two decades and actually put it to work in terms of identifying what it is that my clients needs are. The very first meeting I went to with that mindset, I landed a 38,000-dollar deal. I was shocked. I'm really excited to finish this course because I can't believe that the amount of years that I've actually spent in my life on that wheel, running and running and running in fear that I finally can have a moment or two to breathe and say to myself, ", financial freedom is possible if there's a formula that you can repeat time and time again." That's the value that I place in Sam Ovens' consulting course. Even though I haven't finished it, I'm excited at what else there is that I'm able to learn and garner and be able to create more financial freedom and more peace in my life.
