Hi everyone. My name's Kylie Davenport and I've from Brisbane, Australia. A little bit about my background; I'm an ESL teacher to students who come from overseas to Brisbane to learn English and I have been doing this particular job for the past four years.
Part of the reason why I do love this job is because of the fact that I love languages, I love culture, and I consider myself a people person. I've always had jobs in retail of some sorts since I got my first job at the age of 14.
Unfortunately, and for those of you who are teachers, you will have experienced this yourselves as well. Teaching comes with a lot of marking, a lot of planning, a lot of late nights at times, and also during certain periods of the year, you spend your weekends marking as well.
Success to me is waking up and wanting to run out the door, because you love what you do and despite the fact that I love teaching, I've always had a dream of wanting to be my own boss and doing things my way.
Sam's course is helping me to realize this dream. I haven't, as yet, finished the course, and I'm still working my way through it, but I am learning new skills on a weekly basis.
For me, communicating with people face to face has always been preferable, and Sam's challenges have been quite hard at times. Such as calling people back even after they've said, "No." Two of the main skills that I've learnt from this course have been determination and confidence. These two things are essential. Particularly if you are looking for that change in life that you want.
I couldn't recommend Sam's course highly enough. It has been an amazing journey and Sam's story was inspiring and this is the reason why I decided to take this course in the first place. He inspired me to want a better life for myself.
If you're thinking about taking the course, just jump. It's an amazing course. You will learn so much more about your own mindset that you didn't even realize. I wish you all the best of luck through your future endeavors and I hope you make the right decision. Thank you.
